The latest version of iOS 8 has been released. In the Beta 2 release, we saw full screen caller IDs, new assistive touch toggles, and many more. With the iOS 8 Beta 3, there are new features and options for iCloud, Photos, and more. Here are some of the new features that iOS 8 has.
1. Recently deleted photos have a "Time Left" indicator
-There was an addition of the "Recently Deleted" photo folder that gives users a way to recover photos that have been deleted. According to MacRumors, with iOS 8 Beta 3, there is now an indicator that appears on each and every picture that shows how much time is left before the photo is permanently deleted from the device. 30 days is the default timeframe, but this can be changed.
2. Fix for embedded Safari apps
-The biggest annoyance of the first two Beta versions of the iOS 8 was the consistent crashing of the applications that utilize embedded mobile Safari for rendering. LastPass, some banking applications, and Chrome were some of the applications that were unusable because of this. The Beta 3 has fixed all of the bugs that cause this to happen.
3. Automatically keep video and audio messages
-Just like Snapchat, Apple added a couple of features to their Messages app. This includes one that automatically deletes audio and video messages after a period of time. In the new Beta version of iOS 8, you can go to Settings > Messages > then enable the "Automatically Keep" option, so that you can automatically keep audio and video messages in the Messages application.
4. Newly designed Notification Center
-While the latest version hasn't totally redesigned the notification center, there have been some changes. The "clear" button on the upper right hand corner is now enclosed in an oval, and when you swipe a notification to the left, an X button will appear instead of the former "Dismiss" option.
