The rumor mill has been churning the split of "Divergent" co-actors Shailene Woodley and Theo James, but despite their on-screen chemistry, the two are not dating. They didn't split. Sources say they have always been friends and never dated. The same can be said with Shai's leading man in "The Fault in Our Stars" Ansel Elgort. Sources report Woodley to be dating Juno star Ellen Page.
It is common for fans to assume that co-actors are dating in real life, especially with great on-screen chemistry as with Shailene Woodley's Tris Prior and Theo James' Four in Veronica Roth's blockbuster series-turned-movie. The first of four films based on Roth's three bestselling books, "Divergent" showed incredible chemistry between Woodley and James, causing the film industry to light up with news of them dating-and splitting. But unfortunately for fans of the pair, the two didn't seem to go for off-screen romance.
Fans Share theorizes that if the two had ever dated, the romance was "gone now and the couple are just friends".
Ansel Elgort, Woodley's co-star in "The Fault in Our Stars," who also plays as her brother in "Divergent," has also been romantically linked to her, but the two are just good friends.
As to who Woodley is dating, Fans Share says that she has been linked with close friend Ellen Page, who has recently confirmed she is gay. According to K Drama Stars, no official confirmation has been released from Woodley's or Page's side, but speculations about Woodley's sexuality emerged after the Divergent lead told The Hollywood Reporter that she falls in love "with human beings based on who they are, not based on what they do or what sex they are."
In other Divergent-related news, the sequel to the movie entitled Insurgent will be out on March 20, 2015. Allegiant, which is supposed to be based off the third book, has been split into two movies, the first part of which will be released on March 16, 2016; and the second to follow on March 24, 2017, reports Fashion & Style. The Maze Runner's Noah Oppenheim will be in charge of screenwriting for Allegiant, reports IB Times.
