It's because of a liplocking incident with Michelle Rodriguez, whom critics are now saying might have been his girlfriend all along. Common friend and host on their holiday getaway Gianluca Vacchi say that they are a good influence on each other, while Rodriguez's ex-girlfriend Cara Delevingne cannot believe the rumors swirling.
Efron's trip to Italy aboard a private yacht with friends became a public affair after being snapped kissing the older woman, who had just broken up with Victoria's Secret model Delevingne. The kiss, which sources are saying might not be the first or the only thing shared by Efron and Rodriguez, has been circulating the internet since last week.
According to IB Times, the two had not met recently. They were introduced in 2011 after Efron split up with "High School Musical" co-star and girlfriend of four years Vanessa Hudgens. During that time, sources say that the two have been hooking up whenever they were both single. Meanwhile, vacation host and common friend Vacchi say that the two are a good influence on each other according to his Instagram account, reports Mail Online. The Boston Herald also says that Rodriguez brings out "Efron's silly side", which adds to Vacchi's comment that the two are make a cute couple.
A source said on Hollywood Life that the two reunited during the 'Rover' after party in June and found comfort in each other, with Rodriguez dealing with her breakup and Efron dealing with his substance abuse. IB Times recalls that Rodriguez has been arrest for DUI back in 2006, and that the incident made the two "click".
Upon seeing the issue, Delevingne posted a rant on Twitter dated July 8th saying "I don't know if I can laugh anymore at the crap they write in the press. They must be extremely bored at the moment." KPopStarz speculates she must have heard the news, which prompted her post. Aside from Delevingne, various other Twitter users are posting mixed responses about the couple.
