Jenny McCarthy, who was recently fired from hit ABC talk show "The View," expressed excitement for the show's upcoming season, and said that returning host Rosie O'Donnell would take the show to the right direction.

After McCarthy found out that O'Donnell (who left the show it 2007) would be returning to the show, she said that the comedienne would do a great job.

"I love Rosie. I have been a fan of hers forever," McCarthy told reporters, as reported by The Daily Mail. "I knew they were looking to bring some heat to the table and there is no doubt that with Rosie there will be some heat. They are definitely going in the direction of fire."

"It's going to be some exciting television. I will be there with my beer and popcorn at eleven in the morning. I can't wait to see how it plays out," she added.

It was revealed last month that McCarthy and co-host Sherri Shepherd have been fired from "The View."

An insider told Us Weekly that McCarthy being sacked is not a surprise. "It's not a shock that Jenny was let go," said the source, adding that the actress/model "restrained herself and didn't say what she really thought."

"She played it too safe," the insider added.

"If Sherri goes ... I go too. #sisters," McCarthy said in Twitter. "My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year," McCarthy said in a statement.

O'Donnell will join Whoopi Goldberg, the only remaining original member of the show. Other celebrities who are reportedly being considered to replace the hosts include Lala Ali, daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali; Abby Huntsman, daughter of former Utah governor John Huntsman Jr., political commentator Margaret Hoover, entrepreneur Bill Rancic, "Fashion Queens" host Bevy Smith, TV personality Ross Mathews, and stand-up comedian Mario Cantone.

No other official announcement has been made by ABC, but the insider said that the network is "auditioning loads of people."

"The View" season 18 will start airing in September.
