Boardwalk Empire, an American crime drama television series created by Terence Winter for HBO, has released a teaser for its last season in the series. The show will be on air by September 7, 2014.

In the 53-second teaser, Gillian Darmody (Gretchen Mol) appears trapped in some sort of straightjacket or bathtub contraption. The clip also shows Nucky (Steve Buscemi), Margaret (Kelly MacDonald), Nelson Van Alden (Michael Shannon), Dr. Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright), Al Capone (Stephen Graham) and Charlie Luciano (Vincent Piazza), reports Time.

According to a recent report by Time, Michael Kenneth Williams revealed that season 5 and the final season of the series would jump to 1931.

As per Den of Geek report, "It's goodbye to crisp suits, shiny shoes and custom wet shaves in this new Depression-era season, and hello to shaggy beards and regret."

In last January, the creator of the show Terence Winter announced that Broadwalk Empire season 5 will be the last season of the series, reports zap2it.com.

"After much discussion with my creative team and HBO, we have decided to wrap up the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion," he said.

Boardwalk Empire series is set in Atlantic City, New Jersey, during the Prohibition era and stars Steve Buscemi as Nucky Thompson. Winter, a Primetime Emmy Award-winning screenwriter and producer, created the show inspired by the book Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City by Nelson Johnson about historical criminal kingpin Enoch L. Johnson.
