As the mystery behind the character Adam Newman continues in the longest running soap opera in the television 'The Young and the Restless' (Y&R), the viewers are eagerly waiting for updates about the character from the showrunners.
According to a TMZ report, Michael Muhney, who portrayed Adam Newman in Y&R, was fired from Y&R in December 2013 for allegedly groping his co-star Hunter King, who played Summer Newman.
The fans of Munhey have posted several messages in the social media platform Twitter expressing their curiosity to see him back in the show.
One of the fans tweeted, "I'm still crying over @michaelmuhney just in case anyone was wondering." Another one tweeted, "It has taken 6 months to find a new Adam because no one can measure up to @michaelmuhney (he is irreplaceable) #YR."
"It's going to be difficult for me to watch a different man play Adam Newman. @michaelmuhney played that role well. He can't be replaced! #YR," a fan tweeted.
A recent article by examiner.com reports, "Michael Muhney fans are deeply passionate people. Their collective efforts to support a modern soap opera icon have sustained this actor's career, along with his own smart social media interactions."
Based on a recent report by enstarz.com, Young and the Restless executives are still hunting for Munhey's replacement.
Talking about his replacement to Huffington Post, Munhey said, "Part of me feels this is because I have always been outspoken, and sometimes I have been too outspoken. Sometimes I have walked around with a big backpack full of hubris. That is entirely on me. CBS, Sony, and Jill Phelps are not to blame for that."
"If I'm going to claim to be a grown man, I have to own that. But it could be financial or story. It was explained to me that CBS and Sony want to give Adam a break for 3-6 months and then they'll bring him back with a different actor. Maybe he does need a break. Adam has been on screen a lot. He's not being killed off," he added.
