"Mad Men" has wrapped up filming its final season and the question lingering everyone's mind is: Does Don Draper have a drinking problem? Draper has been seen time after time again to be cradling a glass of whiskey on the rocks, and his alcoholism could be the source of his downfall. The cast of Mad Men, who have finished filing after seven long years of the show ended up with a week-long party and take-homes from the set.
According to Bustle and an infographic from detox.net entitled "Drunk Like Don Draper", Mad Men's lead has a drinking problem, and one that hasn't been addressed seriously. Bustle recalls Draper "vomiting at a funeral, having an affair, almost drowning in a pool, punching a minister and being thrown in jail, missing picking up his children" because of drinking. Season 7's first half also highlighted the dangers of drinking for his career, which make fans wonder if the issue will be addressed head on in the remaining episodes.
Bustle says that Draper's drinking habits will only become worse, and detox.net warned in their infographics that Draper could end up with "dementia, depression, stroke, neuropathy" and heart and liver diseases.
Many would agree that alcohol is a life-wrecker, but female actor Julia Ormond, who played Draper's mother in season 5, says that for her, the show is the wrecker...of relationships. KpopStarz recalls Ormond saying to show creator Matt Weiner that "a very committed relationship that I had actually came to an end and was finally over when he watched a 'Mad Men' episode without me."
In other cast news, Christina Hendricks admitted to wanting some things from Joan's apartment. Hendricks shared wanting to get an Asian mosaic landscape picture among other things from Joan's apartment, which Lionsgate is making her pay for. The actor is more than willing to shell some cash for it, Fashion and Style reports.
Apart from this, the Emmy-nominated female actor also dished on how the cast celebrated Mad Men's filming wrap. "We partied for about a week straight," she said as reported by Fashion and Style. The cast shared a common love for musicals, Hendricks shared, and they sang to the tunes of Defying Gravity and Little Shop of Horrors, among others.
The last episode of Mad Men's season 7 will be airing in 2015.
