Hit CBS crime drama "Criminal Minds" is gearing up for its 10 season, and is set to come out in October 2014.
A recent report by TV Line says that the Kerr Smith, who rose to fame in the hit late 90s/early 2000s show "Dawson's Creek," will be playing a "killer" role in the season premiere.
Kerr, who recently starred in the ABC Family Network's "The Fosters," will be playing an everyday man who is hiding a deep, dark secret--he is an acromotophile, or someone who collects limbs.
Jennifer Love Hewitt ("Party of Five," "The Ghost Whisperer," and "The Client List") will be a new cast member, playing a character named Kate Callahan, a former undercover FBI agent working under the Behavioral Analysis Unit. She will be replacing Jeanne Tripplehorn (who played Alex Blake), who left the show in season nine.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with RTE, Cook recalled being let go from the show in season six. She said that she did not think that the fans would do make petitions to bring her character back: "I think the only thing more shocking than being let go was the response about it. Never in a million years would I have expected that response, so I am indebted to the fans who spoke up and made their voices heard."
Cook adds: "I don't necessarily think it was a J.J. thing of 'we love J.J., we can't live without her'; I think it was a team thing. Our show is such a team and for some reason the core group of us work really well together and if you lose one of us it's like we're missing a limb - it just doesn't seem right."
Cook also said that even she does not know much about what's in store for season 10, but it will surely be "a rollercoaster ride of excitement."
The season premiere of "Criminal Minds" season 10 will air on October 1, at 9/8c on CBS.
