Francis "Frank" Underwood, which is played by Kevin Spacey on the Netflix series hit "House of Cards," is rumored to be killed off in the series' next season. The rumors were cited in a published report a week ago by Bustle. The politician will be meeting Death upon the assassination orders of the First Lady herself, Claire Underwood, according to speculations.
The decision to kill the most formidable politician in Washington DC is said to be because the first lady thinks it is better for her better half to die as a hero than see him fail and lose face as the nation's leader.
The speculations about the plot for the series' next season are said to be inspired from the original 1995 BBC series "The Final Cut," which is the basis for Netflix to produce the online hit. It is to be recalled that in the BBC series' third season, Prime Minister Francis Urquhart's death was by the same circumstance. Urquhart's character is said to be similar to Underwood. Urquhart was seen in the series as a man who has manipulated his way into office and even resorted to murder just to stay in power.
These are mere speculations, however. Netflix may keep the character of Frank longer for the rest of the story, considering the popularity of the show. Also, there is uncertainty whether Netflix will remain loyal to the plot of the original material.
The show is currently filming in Baltimore, Maryland for Season 3. Netflix appeared to go all the way for the show's latest season, as the Baltimore Sun reported Monday that Netflix will be renting out the news agency's office for filming for the next few months. The same location was also used as set for the fictional Washington Herald for "House of Cards"'s first two seasons.
Meanwhile, Kevin Space has recently invited his Twitter followers to take part in a charity raffle. The winner will have the chance to eat barbeque at Freddy's with him. He also added that the winner will also get to rehearse a scene for "House of Cards." The raffle will end today, July 25, according to the official contest website.
House of Cards will be returning to Netflix's online streaming sometime next year.
