Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain Leak Solidifies Release Date for PS4, XBox One; Konami Game Slated for March 2015 PS4 Release?

By

Fans of Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain have reason to celebrate as the game is now slated for an X Box One and PS4 release. After earning positive feedback across gamers in social media platforms due to its clarity of graphics and critical details, the Metal Gear game is now geared for a release early next year.

As if that news is not yet good enough, fans of the Konami game may actually have an exact release date to mark in their calendars after a major news outlet apparently leaked the date accidentally. In an interview by TheGuardian with legendary producer Hideo Kojima, the news site originally wrote "Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain is due out on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 17, March 2015." Loadthegame.com reports that the release date was then changed to "early 2015" but a user from Reddit has managed to screenshot the original article.

Video games editor Keith Stuart, however, later explained the error by calling it a "subbing mistake." According to GamingBolt.com, Stuart had originally placed the date as a placeholder and forgot to change it before the news went live. The date was then changed to "early 2015" after Konami was asked to provide an official release date.

In other news, despite the large following of the game, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima himself is not thrilled with MGS arriving to PS4. Hallels.com spills that the reason behind this is his dissatisfaction with what Rockstar did to the Grand Theft Auto franchise when they brought it to PS4 and other next generation consoles.

Following the slated early 2015 release, however, implies that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will be released approximately a year after the launch of its prequel Ground Zeroes. There are no other major releases scheduled for March 2015 so Phatom Pain is expected to kick off without any problems.
