Season Seven of hit FX "Sons of Anarchy" is set to come out in September. There are still no clear details regarding the show's plot, but the cast and crew have given a few hints on what to look forward to in the show's final season.
At the Television Critics Association summer press tour as reported by TV Line, the biker drama's showrunner, Kurt Sutter, said that the show's journey is still changing and uncertain. He said, "I came in with how I wanted this season to end, which will be the end of the series, and we're heading in that direction. But things change with different story ideas; it's always been heading in the same direction, but the way I'm getting there continuously changes."
One of the biggest questions for the finale is if Charlie Hunnam's character, Jax Teller, will meet his demise. Sutter said that he tries "to keep a loose grip on the story process so we can get there in an organic way," and that he still doesn't know what exactly is in store for the lead character.
The people from the show also had a number of things that they reveal during a panel discussion at the recent San Diego Comi-Con as well.
When asked about rumored prequels, Sutter saying that that there are currently "serious conversations" about it. He did confirm, however that a comic book and a novelization based on the FX biker drama would be happening soon. The full-on novelization, Sutter explained, is entitled "Brava," and is set to come out this fall.
Stutter made it clear that there will be no spinoffs. He explained, "Spinoffs work well, obviously, in procedural dramas, which this is not. To me, the most interesting thing about our mythology is the origins, but because we don't do flashbacks on the show the prequel will be about the origins between John Teller and Piney Winston."
Meanwhile, it's been revealed earlier that the show will also be welcoming new cast members, TVLine said. Musician Marilyn Manson will play white supremacist Ron Tully, and "The Bridge" actress Annabeth Gish will play Althea Jarry, who had years of experience at the Stockton's Organized Crime Unit. "Sons of Anarchy" season seven airs on September 9 (Tuesday), at 10/9c on FX.
