Majority of the filming of the sci-fi classic "Terminator: Genesis" is reportedly finished already, Enstars reports. The reboot of the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starrer is expected to be released in July 2015.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will be reprising his role as T-800. Recent reports reveal that the actor is nearly done filming his part for the highly anticipated movie.
It was also revealed that the futuristic set for the film will be in Redwood Shores, California, as Cyberdyne is expected to be a crucial element of the movie. The location features impressive blue skyscrapers that house companies such as Oracle.
A new addition to the cast was also announced. Douglas Smith ("Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters") will be playing the role of the young John Connor. Jason Clarke, on the other hand, will act as the older Connor.
Recent reports also confirmed that Courtney B. Vance ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "The Hunt for Red October") will be part of cast for the upcoming installment. Vance will play Miles Dyson, the founder of Cyberdyne. The character was originally portrayed by Joe Morton in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day."
The film will also star Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese and Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor. Sandrine Holt ("House of Cards") will take the role of Detective Cheung who will arrest Kyle and Sarah as they time travel to 2017, as previous reports claim.
It was also reported earlier that actor Matt Smith is set to appear as yet an unknown character in the upcoming films in the new series.
"Terminator" is a sci-fi franchise that encompasses a series of movies revolving around the battle between Skynet's artificially intelligent machine network, and human John Connor's Resistance forces.
"Terminator 5: Genesis" is said to be the first film in a new stand-alone trilogy of the franchise.
The movie is being directed by Alan Taylor and is scheduled to be released in theaters in July 2015.
