Ray Allen is still uncertain whether or net he will play next season after having already played 18 NBA season which includes championship runs with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and the Miami Heat in 2013, when he made a crucial three-pointer in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. In the end, whether Allen decides to help another contender reach the top with his clutch three point shooting or retire, he is already a sure fire Hall of Famer.
But their are still plenty of rumors spreading that Allen will play next season. Just a few weeks ago, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reported that he is considering teaming up with LeBron James once again in Cleveland: "Former Celtic and Heat standout Ray Allen is leaning towards returning for a 19th NBA season and joining former teammate LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to a league source," he wrote.
But amidst the rumors that Allen was planning to make a comeback with LeBron, the best three point shooter in NBA history hasn't signed any contract with the Cleveland Cavalier's yet while the team has been quietly filling its roster with sharpshooters in Mike Miller and James Jones - former Miami Heat players.
Perhaps he is looking to sign with another team all along? David Ramil of Hoopshabit.com is suggesting that there is a possibility that Ray Allen will reunite with his former championsip comrades but not with LeBron James but with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in in the newly structured Miami Heat roster.
At this point though, Ray Allen is in no rush to make a decision on his future as he told courant. He is still in great shape even as he enters next season at 39 years old and could still be a valuable piece to any contender. What he wants though, is to be in the ideal situation.
"I don't want to go into a situation where I don't understand the coaching, don't understand the direction of the team," Allen said to courant. "My family is very important in making the decision. Right now, there is nothing that I need to do. If I ultimately decide this will be it for me, I'm content with that."
So what do you think will Ray Allen's decision be for this coming season? Will he play with the Cleveland Cavaliers alongside LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and possibly Kevin Love? Or will he stay with his recent team the Miami Heat and help Wade and Bosh in their quest for another title without LeBron?
