Matt LeBlanc, Courtney Cox lay 'Friends' 2014 reunion show, spinoff to rest

There's a new rumor buzzing online regarding the purported reunion show of the 90s hit sitcom "Friends." The said show has been said to be aired in time for Thanksgiving this year, Kpopstarz reported.

The sitcom, which starred Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, has been hounded by rumors of the show's revival since it ended ten years ago. This year, however, the rumors were breathed with new life after a fan-made poster made the rounds on the web. The poster, which stressed that the show will be back for Thanksgiving this year, is allegedly part of the celebration of the sitcom's anniversary. The poster was somehow authenticated when news insisted that NBC had givem the show the green light to proceed production.

LeBlanc who played the funny Joey Tribbiani, was asked by Los Angeles Times about him being repeatedly asked about a reunion show. The actor told the paper that he welcomes the rumors, but there is really nothing truthful about the show being revived as a reunion show, or a spinoff, for that matter.

"I'm not tired of getting asked that question at all. 'Friends' was probably the greatest 10 years of my life. I'd be hard-pressed to find something that matches that in terms of success and just sheer fun. So anything that harks back to that has a soft spot in my heart. I think that show was about a finite period in your life - after college and before you start your family where your friends are your family - and that's what that show was about. So to go beyond that doesn't feel like you'd do justice to that. I liken it to that saying that the book is always better than the movie," said LeBlanc.

He also referred to the actors' ages and joked, No one wants to see us in our 40s. Joey's still struggling as an actor. It'd just be sad."

Jennifer Aniston's best friend, Courteney Cox, who played Monica Geller, also seconded LeBlanc's statement. During her visit on CBS' the "Late Show," Cox was quoted by KPopstarz when asked by David Letterman, "Only because once you say, 'Well, I'd like it,' then they have to contact every other cast member and be like, 'Courteney's into it!' And then I get in trouble. It's not going to happen."
