Is Season 6 the end of Callen and Sam?

"NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 5 had ended with "Deep Trouble," where the characters of actors Chris O'Donnell (G. Callen) and LL Cool J (Sam Hanna) were trapped in a submarine full of explosive gas and a pair of fangerous terrorists. The cliffhanger had led fans wondering whether the upcoming season would be a gamechanger in terms of the dynamics between the two naval agents. LL Cool J even posted on Instagram about it, and shared another photo of a ship that might be used in one of the scenes.

On the other hand, fans of the show would not have to wait a bit longer as it has been confirmed that the show would be back on September 29, Enstars reported. Aside from O'Donnell and LL Cool J, the show will also bring back Eric Christian Olsen (Marty Deeks), Daniela Ruah (Kensi Blye), Linda Hunt (Henrietta "Hetty" Lange), Owen Granger (Miguel Ferrer), Renée Felice Smith (Nell Jones) and Eric Beale (Barrett Foa). Director John Peter Kousakis even teased fans with the show's film schedule, which started on August 4. "NCIS: Los Angeles" has reportedly filmed two episodes for the new season.

"Last day of prep on E601! Let's get this party started. Production begins Monday," Kousakis tweeted on Friday.

International Business Times said that based on the actors' social media accounts, the upcoming season of the military drama would definitely be action-packed. Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi Blye on the show, shared on Instagram a photo of her and her onscreen partner Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) inside a helicopter cockpit, indicating that their characters would be flying above the waters in search of Sam and Callen.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the first episode of the season, "An Inelegant Heart" will be showing a week after the season 6 premiere, "Deep Trouble: Part 2," which was filmed last spring. "Deep Trouble: Part 2" would be showing the events following the season 5 cliffhanger of the series.

Also, IBTimes hinted that O'Donell has directed one of the episodes for Season 6.

"NCIS: LA" will be back on the small screen on September 29 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
