“NCIS” Season 12 Spoilers: Will Ziva David Return and Reunite with Tony DiNozzo?; “2 Broke Grils” Actor, Adam Campbell to Play David McCallum’s Ducky

Since Ziva David's (Cote de Pablo) exit from "NCIS", viewers were left wondering whether or not will return to the hit TV series. With recent rumors buzzing online, fans of the CBS show are asking the same question.

Director of the show, Dennis Smith gave a hint of Ziva's possible return, Enstars reports. Smith tweeted, "Just talking about 'Truth or Consequences' with Mr. Weatherly and Mr. Stern the other night over a nice bottle of wine," earlier this week.

"Truth or Consequences" was the premiere episode of the show's seventh season back in 2009. The episode focused on Ziva's rescue after months of captivity. It showed "Mr. Weatherly," (Tony DiNozzo), whose life was put to risk while saving Ziva. "Mr. Stern" is in reference to scribe Jesse Stern, who also teased NCIS fans through Twitter.

"Hi #TivaCamp2014 been thinking a little bit about a follow up to Truth or Consequences lately. Think that'd be fun?" Stern wrote.

The character left the show last October with Tony attempting to make Ziva stay. In the scene, a teary-eyed Tony begged, "Listen, you can bag groceries for all I care, just come home. I just want you to come home with me." He went on saying, "I know it's hard and I know you want to change. I can change with you. I'm fighting for you."

It was not, however, made certain whether the character will return. Executive producer Gary Glasberg shared that the fourth episode will show Tony meeting a new woman while working on a special case.

"It's time for Tony to continue to grow a little bit," Glasberg told TVLine.com. "He went through a lot last year emotionally and tried to deal with Ziva's departure as he could."

Meanwhile, recent reports claim that actor Adam Campbell will be playing as the young David McCallum's Ducky.

"NCIS" Season 12 will start airing at 8/7c on Sept. 23 on CBS.
