“Indiana Jones 5" Release Date Still to be Announced; The Next “Indy:” Will it be Guardians of the Galaxy Bradley Cooper or Twilight Robert Pattinson? Secret Source Reveals Update

News about Harrison Ford's leg injury in June, fans of "Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars" were scared about the future release date of the two highly anticipated movies. The event also sparked speculations about actors who can possibly replace the veteran actor - Guardians of the Galaxy Bradley Cooper or Twilight Robert Pattinson.

"Disney is looking at its long-term options for the Indiana Jones franchise. They feel that the series has huge potential on many levels, starting with the films leading to other spin-offs like games which can generate more money than movies," a source told Showbizspy.com.

The source also reveals a favorite: "Rob is top of the initial list because he has showed his acting stripes away from Twilight. But the competition will be stiff".

Early this year, there were rumors that two more "Indiana Jones" movies are currently in the negotiation stage while Ford is working on a couple of films. "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Bradley Cooper and "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson are rumored to be the top options to replace Ford as Dr. Jones.

"Rob is top of the initial list because he has showed his acting stripes away from Twilight. But the competition will be stiff," a source was quoted.

"Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars" were two of the films Ford were made famous for. He played "Indy" for more than three decades now, while played "Han Solo" in the original Star Wars trilogy. This made it hard for the actor to choose which movie he should prioritize, as he previously said in an interview.

"I'm just delighted to be involved. We haven't started filming yet but we have a great script and a wonderful cast," said the actor. "J.J. Abrams is a director at the top of his game and I'm looking forward to it. It'll be great fun."

Moreover, Robert Pattinson has denied his involvement with the fifth "Indiana Jones" movie. "I don't know why. Why is that coming out?" he told a reporter. "I honestly don't understand what it's all about. Man, I wish!"

Meanwhile, reports claim that Ford is recovering fast from his injury and could return to the set to finish filming. The accident happened at the set of "Star Wars: Episode VII" where the actor broke his leg and was sent to hospital in London.

While attending the red carpet premiere of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy", Mark Hamill, Ford's co-star in "Star Wars: Episode VII," talked about the accident.

"I was not on set [when it happened]. It was really terrible, but I hear he's doing really well," said Hamill. "It will take more than that to stop Harrison Ford," the actor confidently claimed.

The release date of "Indiana Jones" 5 is yet to be announced.
