"Hannibal" series creator, Bryan Fuller, said fans will get to see a different-looking Frederick Chilton (Raul Esparza) come the show's third season, Fashion & Style reports. Fuller teased that viewers will have a first good look at the severely disfigured character in the new season's fourth episode.
"The opening of Episode 4 is a lot of fun, featuring all the many ways Chilton has been disfigured," teased Fuller. "And it's all about how everyone who has survived is disfigured in some way, and what Hannibal has taken from them, and what they're going to do to get those pieces of themselves back," he added.
The books and movies, from which the series was derived from, did not mention nor featured Chilton being harmed by the cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal (though there were implications he was later murdered and ate). However, the TV series showed Chilton receiving violent attacks.
In the first season, Abel Gideon takes out several of Chilton's organ. The second season showed him being shot in the face by Miriam Lass after Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) frames him up for Miriam's kidnapping and arm amputation.
Meanwhile, there are no reports yet as to who survived the massacre at Hannibal's house. Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) obviously did as the show revolves around the character's relationship with Hannibal. Also, Fuller and Dancy have previously mentioned some details of Will's fate in the upcoming season.
It was also confirmed that Laurence Fishburne will be back as Jack Crawford in Season 3. Reports claim the actor will be featured in about half the episodes.
Fans are also wondering whether Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) is still alive. The previous season showed her being pushed by Abigail (Kacey Rohl) out a second story window.
In other news, the psychological symbol, "Stag Man" will appear again, according to Enstars.
"We're going to see the Stag Man, the Windego; but the stag it feels like we're looking for what our next kind of psychological symbol is because if that was about their relationship in season 1 and season 2 and he watched it die, it feels like it should die and be born again as something else," explained Fuller.
Viewers will have to wait until the third season of the series returns to NBC in 2015.
