“Castle” Season 7 Spoilers: Showrunners Amman and Marlowe Reveal What Fans can Expect on Upcoming Season; Beckett to Investigate What Happened to Rick

By

ABC's "Castle" shocked fans and viewers with its Season 6 finale. The episode featured a near-tragic event that left everyone asking why it happened on the day of the character's wedding. The series' upcoming season will give the answer to this, Enstars reports.

In the previous season, Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) got into a car accident while on his way over to his wedding. The accident put his marriage with Kate Beckett's (Stana Katic) on hold even longer.

The series' current showrunner David Amman and fellow executive producer Andrew Marlowe gave a hint on what will happen in the upcoming season. According to them, Beckett will focus on finding out why and how the car crash happened.

"She's committed to getting to the bottom of what happened with Castle," Amann told Give Me My Remote. "That's really her focus and her mission. She's going to do that, and she's going to take that as far as she can go to get answers. That's what she's focused on," he continued.

Although the first episodes will revolve around the investigation, Marlowe made it clear that the whole season will not be all about the case, as it will take only a few episodes to resolve it.

"We're going to deal with it in the first couple of episodes, we're going to get back to the kinds of "Castle" episodes that we all know and love and expect, with a relationship that has deeper understanding, and also deeper curiosity to it," said Marlowe.

"And it'll also take that relationship to a much more interesting place, we feel. And so we know the fans were a little bit like, 'What are you guys doing?' We have something planned that we're kind of excited about, and we hope that people come back and play along," the executive producer shared.

Amann also added that after the new season's Episode 2, many questions will be answered, but not everything. He also revealed that they are planning to "reopen" the case later. Marlowe suggested that this will happen on the crime drama's mid-season two-part episode.

Castle's newest season is scheduled to premiere on Monday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
