Season of 6 of "Castle" ended when Nathan Fillion's character was run off by an unknown assailant on his way to marry Katherine Houghton "Kate" Beckett (Stana Katic). Beckett is left in anguish as she watches Castle's car consumed by fire as he is presumably trapped inside.
So this leaves us with a question: Is Fillion out of the series?
Natalia Abrams of TVGuide also revealed that it is unlikely that Richard Castle would be severely injured by the car crash. She wrote, "We're not certain Castle was even seriously injured. But Castle will certainly need all his wits to piece together exactly what's happened and why."
Andrew Marlowe and David Amman also revealed details about Season 7 to GiveMeMyRemote.
Marlowe, who created the series, told the website about Season 7, "The whole season isn't going to be filled up with it, though. We're going to deal with it in the first couple of episodes (about what happened to Castle), we're going to get back to the kinds of CASTLE episodes that we all know and love and expect, with a relationship that has deeper understanding, and also deeper curiosity to it. And it'll also take that relationship to a much more interesting place, we feel. And so we know the fans were a little bit like, "What are you guys doing?" We have something planned that we're kind of excited about, and we hope that people come back and play along."
Amman, who has recently appointed the series' new showrunner also discussed what Beckett would be doing about her fiance's car crash this season. He said, "She's committed to getting to the bottom of what happened with Castle. That's really her focus and her mission. She's going to do that, and she's going to take that as far as she can go to get answers. That's what she's focused on. We have something planned that we're kind of excited about, and we hope that people come back and play along."
