A Fashion & Style report suggests that the battle between Autobots and Decepticons in "Transformers 5" will take place on Earth. This is in contrast with previous reports that claimed the "Transformers: Age of Extinction's" sequel will be set in outer space. Rumors also say that the character Unicron may not appear in the upcoming film. Unicron was previously reported as a villain for the fifth Transformer movie.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told Screencrush, that just because the last Transformer movie showed Optimus Prime going into space in quest of The Creator, does not necessarily mean the movie will take place in space.
"I don't think so. You know, Michael has found a really great blend of real humor, integrating a lot of human characters with a lot of different kinds of Transformers. I think in that respect, it will be very similar," the film producer said.
Bonaventura also hinted that viewers should not expect to see the Autobots fighting with Unicron. In the comics, Unicron is the ultimate planet transformer which can devour planets when he transforms. The character is described as one the largest and the most powerful enemies of the Autobots.
The producer voiced out that he does not find Unicron interesting at all. He describes the scale of putting Unicron as "difficult to be dramatic."
"And it was boring. It's like a giant object," Bonaventura added. "It doesn't have personality in a way - its scale overwhelms things. So, for me, I don't know. Michael is the kind of guy who can probably figure it out. I can't figure it out."
In a different interview with Screenrant, Bonaventura said that a 2016 release date is not accurate.
"No, that's not accurate. Somehow that gets reported, it's made up by somebody and then everybody thinks it's true. No, I think we've been doing these on different cycles," he said.
"It's an exhausting process to make these movies. The scale of them is so enormous. It really does tax everybody and our tendency is to finish one at a time, recover, and then begin talking. And we'll do the same thing this time," Bonaventura continued.
