Finally, as Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" filming has kicked into full swing in Detroit, we finally have a chance to see some carefully snapped set photos.
And they've begun pouring in- the first coming from International Business Times, which shows Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Batman's alter ego, rushing through some kind of citywide disaster. It's not quite clear where this lies in the film, but there's not really much to distinguish in terms of plot or spoilers.
All we really know from the pics is that at some point, Ben Affleck will be involved in an action sequence that involves his alter ego (presumably, having to hide his unbelievable level of martial arts prowess, keeping people from realizing that he is actually Batman).
However, as more images of Affleck continue to leak, the continued backlash against Affleck continues to grow. Christened "Batfleck" by a group of half-fans, half-detractors, the actor's casting has been controversial from the start.
Which is something Affleck addressed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"Before I took the role, Warner Bros. gave me a bunch of past reactions to casting and said, 'Are you sure you want to get into this? This is part and parcel of these movies now. There's a lot of active fans with a lot of opinions.' To me, having been through a certain amount of that, it doesn't really... Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I wouldn't have taken the part if I didn't trust my instincts in terms of the filmmaking."
However, from Bad*** Digest, we've also picked up on a few potential spoilers from the rumor mill- one that involves a potential new villain joining the film. According to their sources, Lex Luthor (played by Jesse Eisenberg) has a grand plan that involves reconstructing General Zod's body from the first film and building a new villain out of it.
Bad*** Digest is playing coy, but included in their report is a clear silhouette of the villain Doomsday.
