Formula One racer Michael Schumacher's condition has slowly improved after being placed in an induced coma last December and emerging from it this June. The alleged thief who stole his medical records is reported to be dead, and the racer's private jet is up for sale while his Ferrari car is on auction.
The racer met an accident on Dec.29 when he hit his head on a rock during a skiing trip in the French Alps. The seven-time world champion remains in a Swiss rehab facility where, according to The Epoch Times, doctors are not hopeful for a full recovery. According to Breathe Cast, "The injury was so severe that the racer had to undergo two brain surgeries, as doctors and surgeons had to combat the blood clots."
Adding to this, The Epoch Times says that Schumacher might not be able to walk again, but as of a few weeks ago he has started communicating with his relatives through blinking. The celebrated F1 racer, who has 308 Grand Prix entries and a total of 1,566 points, remains mute and immobile.
The Schumacher family has been private and discrete about his files, and any news given to the press is given with reluctance, Breathe Cast says.
Schumacher was transferred via an air ambulance from a hospital in France to a hospital in Switzerland in June. However, a week later, his medical records turned up for sale to the media. Schumacher was transferred from CHU Grenoble to University Hospitals of Lausanne via the Rega air ambulance. Apparently, Schumacher's medical records were stolen by an air ambulance employee who was kept unnamed. The Epoch Times article added that the man has allegedly committed suicide after being arrested on Tuesday.
With a slim chance of Schumacher fully recovering and resuming racing, the 45-year old's Ferrari race car has been put up for auction. According The Epoch Times, the Ferrari 248 F1 with chassis No. 253 was used in 2006 for three races and is up for a price of $3.3 million.
Aside from his Ferrari Formula One race car, Schumacher's wife, Corina, has also reportedly put his private jet up for sale, reports Ecumenical News. In the article, Ecumenical News says that the grey Falcon 2000EX private jet currently has a price tag of $26.8 million. The jet has a capacity of eight passengers and a speed of 600 mph. The jet has been a part of Schumacher's travels while he was still competing. In addition, KpopStarz said that the racer allegedly travelled 300-400 hours every year for competitions and vacations with his family. Also according to the site, Schumacher used the jet to shuttle his kids to their Switzerland school.
