"The Big Bang Theory" will be back for season 8 after ironing out problems with production. No plot lines for season 8 have been revealed yet, but Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) will undergo "major changes."

According to Christian Post, "The Big Bang Theory's" show runners are adapting a "wait-and-see" approach to the season, as the plot has not been laid out yet.

The article recalls season 7 ending with Leonard (Johnny Galecki) proposing to Penny, to which Penny replied by saying that "being fired was the best thing that ever happened to her." Apparently, the wedding will not happen right away, and Penny will start making smart decisions.

"She is going to start making some money," show creator Chuck Lorre said. In an article by Christian Post, it is revealed that Penny will be working as a pharmaceutical rep in her friend Bernadette's (Melissa Rausch) company. Lorre also added that Penny will find confidence and self-esteem, something that she did not get in acting. However, Penny's bigger income could become a potential conflict for Penny and Leonard, adds Christian Post. In addition, KpopStarz mentions Penny's character wanting to "push the wedding date as far as possible" to avoid pregnancy speculations.

However, actor Cuoco-Sweeting seems excited about the wedding. "I'm hoping next season will involve a lot of wedding stuff, I think that would be really fun." Cuoco-Sweeting also added that she considers Leonard to be "more of the planner."

As for Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) relationship with Amy, KpopStarz has executive producer Steve Molaro allegedly hinting that the relationship will not be compromised. According to Ecumenical News, Penny and Leonard's engagement led to Sheldon being asked to move out, and it remains unclear whether Sheldon will be leaving the town, or just the apartment.

Lorre stands firm that the show's focus remains to be making characters and relationships grow. Fortunately for the cast, that involved getting a hefty increase in their contracts. Us Magazine reported that Warner Bros. has told Us Weekly that production on Season 8 just began, "with contract negotiations having been concluded."

Christian Post reports that Cuoco-Sweeting, Galecki and Parsons each got a raise of $1 million per episode, a big increase from Hallels' report that the three earned $350,000 each on previous seasons. Meanwhile, Simon Helberg and Kunnal Nuyar received undisclosed six-figure sums each, and Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rausch had a raise to $60,000 from their previous $20,000-$30,000 episode income.

"The Big Bang Theory" has gone back into production on August 6 and the first episode, "The Locomotion Interruption," will be on air on September 22.
