'Legend of Korra Book 3' finale recap: Did the Red Lotus succeed? Avatar confined in a wheelchair as Jinora leads Airbenders

The two-part conclusion to "The Legend of Korra Book 3" was a fitting finish to its otherwise lackluster debut on Nickelodeon. The animated spin-off from "Avatar: The Last Airbender" capped the show's latest season with an ending no fans had expect to believe, the International Business Times said. The site said that Nickelodeon ensured that excitement over the season ending of the show was still under its control when it released the two episodes on their own website on Friday shortly after it was leaked by unscrupulous individuals.

In "Enter The Void," IGN observed that there was a lot of combat between members of Team Avatar and the Red Lotus led by Zaheer. The fight scenes between Korra and Tonraq versus Zaheer, Su versus P'Li, and Bolin's lavabending moment was spellbinding for fans who have been peppered enough with gags in the show. Moreover, the episode also showed another specialized airbending technique employed by Zaheer, which made him able to fly just like Jinora did.

The episode was also good news to Tenzin fans, as Screencrush noted that the Airbender master lives! After being freed by Asami from his confinement, Tenzin displayed his Airbending chops that earned him a master status.

In "Venom of the Red Lotus," we saw the extend of Korra's power despite being poisoned with the liquid from "Prometheus" by Zaheer. Team Avatar, despite carrying out a rescue mission, was enthralled with how Korra in Avatar state, still bounded by chains, blast off her opponents, breaks free of her chains, and commands the fire element as she goes against Ming-Hua, Gahzan and then Zaheer. However, Team Avatar comes to her aide when Korra is slowly being consumed with the poison, requiring Su to attempt to metalbend the poison out. However, the poison has proven so potent on Korra, that it had left her useless in a wheelchair, Screencrush said.

On the other hand, Korra's sacrifice bore fruit, as her friends, most notably Tenzin and Jinora answered the call to the world's need for a protector. Tenzin suggested that the Airbenders travel on the road to provide help to anyone who needs it. Jinora, on the other hand, receives the master status in a special ceremony, being the first in generations to be named one, IBTimes said.
