Gal Gadot, who will be playing Wonder Woman in the upcoming movie, "Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice," recently shared a first look at her costume as DC Comics' premiere female superhero.
The Israeli actress and model took to Facebook and shared a photo of her wearing the costume. The photo was captioned, "I'm ready...are you?"
It is noticeable that the heroine's costume is different from the traditional Wonder Woman look. Similar to Henry Cavill's Superman costume in Man of Steel, Gadot's costume was in dark shades, Wired.co.uk reports. The armor appears to be made of leather; and many fans noticed its huge difference from the bright costume seen in the comics or the TV series.
Some fans expressed their disappointment on the female hero's costume.
A Twitter user said, "*cries* I just saw the new Wonder Woman costume reveal. What the heck? They butchered it."
Another netizen commented on DC Comic's Facebook page saying "Not impressed. Colors are too muted. Nothing about this says Wonder Woman."
Meanwhile "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" Director, Zack Synder, previously spoke to Forbes about testing the costumes for Batman and Wonder Woman's 75th anniversary.
"The thing also that's really fascinating for me is that, even just in the tests we've been doing, the costumes, right? You basically have Batman and Superman - and this is without Ben [Affleck] and Henry [Cavill] in the costumes, but just like the stand-ins, just testing to see what the costumes look like," said Synder.
"And you have them standing there and they're standing in the same shot - and then we have Wonder Woman, you know, all three of them in the same shot. Even just for a test, you really have to go, 'Wow, that's crazy!'" he said.
"Not only is it the first time that I'm seeing them, it's the first time they've ever existed together on screen in a movie. And that's kind of a huge deal," Synder added.
Meanwhile, Gal Gadot recently signed to join the powerhouse cast of Millenium Films' thriller "Criminal." The actress will be joining Kevin Costner, Ryan Reynolds, Gary Oldman, Alice Eve, and Tommy Lee Jones.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is expected to hit the theaters on March 25, 2016.
