Amber Rose pulls a 'Rose McGowan' at the MTV VMAs with Barely There Laurel DeWitt Chain Dress, drops jaws everywhere

The carnival of fashion winners and disasters that is the VMAs had just wrapped on Sunday. Amid the mélange of questionable fashion catastrophes and nod-worthy styles, someone notably rose with a true jaw-dropping scene, thanks to model Amber Rose's revealing ensemble.

People reported that the new mother of one and rapper Wiz Khalifa's wife gave the term "dress" some serious redefining after the 30-year old arrived at the red carpet wearing a sparkly outfit that looked like a series of chains linked together to create the form of a dress. Amber's outfit was created by Brooklyn-based designer Laurel DeWitt, who specializes in metal apparel and accessories. Other personalities who have worn DeWitt's line were Milla Jovovich, Vanessa Hudgens, Khloe Kardashian, Cyndi Lauper, Kelly Rowland, Nicki Minaj, and Lady Gaga. She covered her modesty with a sparkly G-string, and completed the rest of the ensemble with silver sandals, her trademark cropped silver hair, pretty makeup and not much else. The chainmail-like ensemble by Rose recalls Rose McGowan's equally infamous dress, of which she also flaunted down the red carpet of the VMAs back in 1998, when she was dating rocker Marilyn Manson, US Magazine said.

Despite the amount of skin Rose showed during the event, her rendition of the "If you got it, flaunt it!" outfit is actually more conservative than McGowan's version 14 years ago. The actress, who wore a chain mesh that did nothing to cover her front, shared to a 1999 Maxim interview that she "wore it to cause an uproar," Entertainment Weekly recounted.

The model's head-turning ensemble seems to be the exact opposite of Wiz Khalifa's outfit, who wore a statement shirt over slim pants and classic black shoes in the affair. The rapper was nominated for Best Hip-Hop Video for his song "We Dem Boyz," pitting him against Drake for "Hold on, We're Going Home," Kanye West for "Black Skinhead," Childish Gambino for "3005", and Eminem for "Berzerk," US Magazine said.
