4J Studios announces delay of Minecraft for PlayStation 4 again; Xbox 360 and PS3 users get $10 discount on on console versions upon release

4J Studios recently announced on its Twitter account that it will be delaying the launch of the PlayStation 4 version of its hit video game "Minecraft." The company said that the game failed to pass certification from Sony as the latter has found new bugs that requires immediate attention. Before the announcement, 4J has since advised the game's fans that "Minecraft" would be released for the said consoles in August this year.

Since the announcement of the delay, it was observed that 4J Studios has been keeping gamers updated on the status of the game versions by tweeting various screenshots with improvements such as this one and more. 4J Studios has since made known that due to size limitations, its console version might not feature infinite worlds.

The PS4, XBOX One, and PS Vita versions were all submitted by 4J for certification earlier this month and there were many bugs found by both Sony and Microsoft. According to the Inquisitr, the bugs found by Sony is the very reason why the PS4 version was delayed in order for the company to fix bugs. Currently, both publishers are hard at work with 4J in finding and fixing more bugs on the next generation consoles and handheld versions of the game before they get to release it to the public.

In what appeared to a marketing tactic to appease impatient gamers, 4J said XBox 360 and PS3 owners will be able to purchase the PS4 and XBox One versions of "Minecraft" at discounted rates, The Fuse Joplin reported. The game, which initially retails for $19.99, will have Xbox 360 gamers the opportunity to purchase the XBox One version for $4.99. Moreover, PS3 owners will be able to get the PS4 version for $4.99. The discounts are reportedly valid for only one year following the new game console versions' releases.
