Marvel’s “Black Panther” Casting News: Chadwick Boseman Set to Star as the Classic African-American Comic Superhero

Chadwick Boseman, who previously played iconic names in the big screen such as Jackie Robinson and James Brown, is now reported to play another interesting character, which is a Marvel fictional hero. The actor seemed to be caught off guard when asked about the rumors that he will be cast as the T'Challa in Marvel's "Black Panther" movie, Enstars reports.

Boseman is renowned for his performances in the movies he has starred in, most especially in films where he played famous public figures. In the actor's latest project, "Get On Up," Boseman played legendary performer and Godfather of soul, James Brown. Presently, the movie has been given a number of positive reviews, boosting its promotions.

The actor visited "The Breakfast Club" as part of his promotional tour in New York City for his movie "Get On Up." The actor discussed how the project came together. All of a sudden, Charlamagne asked Boseman if it is true that the latter will play T'Challa in the "Black Panther" movie under Marvel.

The actor smiled and change position before answering the question with a hint of nervousness. "I don't know anything about that. Until the contract is signed, I don't know." The actor's response has sparked speculations that the rumors may be true.

Previous reports suggest that Morris Chestnut (Best Man Holiday) will also star in the rumored movie. Some rumors even claim that the actor is the one who will play as the first African-American superhero.

There are previous reports claiming that Marvel executives, producers, and comic book writers met and started brainstorming on which among their classic comic characters should they bring to the table. Reports about a "BlackPanther" movie followed, with other claiming that the story and plot are currently in development.

Marvel has not made any announcement nor official reports yet regarding the rumored movie.
