Director Marc Webb reveals Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio are personal choices; Russian villain next 'Amazing Spider-Man 3' nemesis?

A teaser video showing the development of "Sinister Six" had revealed that "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" director Marc Webb would be introducing Mysterio and Kraven the Hunter as members of the nemesis supergroup movie. But fans of the comic book superhero movie franchise were also thrilled after Webb's recent interview hinted that the director, who is expected to direct "The Amazing Spider-Man 3," is also interested in having Kraven as the main villain.

Webb talked with ComicBook last May about his plans as he discussed the future of the web-slinging superhero's film universe. While there are no official announcements made regarding who will be part of the villain team, the director shared some of his personal picks for the upcoming "Sinister Six" movie.

"Kraven. I like the idea of Kraven. The Vulture. Ock. I always thought the idea of Mysterio was interesting. Maybe Scorpion. But really, Kraven I think is kind of interesting," he said.

One could not help whether Webb is eyeing Kraven as the potential main villain in the upcoming "Amazing Spider-Man" sequel.

In the comic books, Enstarz said Kraven is a Russian immigrant. He is a son of an aristocrat who fled to the United States with his family. As a big game hunter, Kraven seeks to defeat Spider-Man to prove he is the best hunter in the world. Unlike other hunters, however, Kraven is not fond of using guns or bows and arrows. Instead, he prefers to take down large animals with his bare hands. Kraven takes a mysterious serum that gives his body additional strength and makes it age slowly.

Meanwhile, Quentin Beck aka Mysterio is explained in a separate Enstarz report as a special effects wizard and stuntman who works for a film studio in Hollywood. Quentin dreamed of becoming an actor but did not succeed. Because of hi failed attempt to make a name in Hollywood, he turned evil and used his mastery of illusions to be a super villain. In a battle with Spider-Man, Mysterio used gas to affect the hero's spider sense and used a chemical abrasive to dissolve his web. Spider-Man eventually defeated him and Mysterio was put in jail, putting the blame on Spidey.

Also linked to the upcoming team-up movie of villains are Green Goblin, who has been Spidey's nemesis since its first superhero film, and Rhino, who has appeared in "Amazing Spider-Man 2."

"Sinister Six" is reportedly hitting the theaters on November 11, 2016.
