Shailene Woodley and Theo James are officially back together with first photos of the pair taken on the set of "Insurgent." The filming for the sequel to Veronica Roth's "Divergent" started this May in Atlanta, Georgia.
The photos, which can be viewed on Daily Mail, showed Shailene wearing a khaki sleeveless gilet and baggy trousers with her blonde cropped hair covered by a mauve-colored scarf. This was a complete departure from her initial look in the previous films, where she is seen wearing sleek attire and wore her blonde hair longer. Ahead of "Insurgent," it could be recalled that Shailene worked on the tearjerker "The Fault In Our Stars," where her long hair was cropped to play a sick person.Theo, on the other hand, was in character in his black shirt and cargo pants with some of Four's famous extensive tattoos just peeking from under his clothes.
Fans could not get enough of the paparazzi shots that they have shared them for the others to see, Sugarscape.com noted.
Paparazzi were not the only ones who had shared photos on the set. Zoe Kravitz, who would be playing Cristina, Tris' bestfriend in the Dauntless faction, also took a selfie with James on the set. The model and actress could not help keep her excitement on the set and decided to feign interest when she shared an Instagram snap with the actor and added a caption that read, "On set with this guy. Ugh."
When Nylon asked her thoughts about filming "Insurgent," she said, "They're great! We've been filming it in Atlanta, which is actually a really cool place to shoot. The cast is so fun--we're all good friends now, so it sort of feels like summer camp. You know? We actually just had a really nice girls' night at Shai's [Shailene Woodley's] house and cooked all these different meals and brought a bunch of different dishes. There are just so many rad, beautiful women in this film and I'm glad to be friends with them all."
The first part of the dystopian hit film "Divergent" racked up more than $200 million at the box office back in April, therefore boosting the expectations of the fans on its sequel. Fortunately, James, who plays the brooding leader of the Dauntless society faction in the series, Tobias "Four" Eaton, is quite confident of the second movie's plot. According to one of his interviews as quoted by Christian Post, James said, "You have to honor the material for the first film because you have a fanbase, but when you come to the second one, if you've done well with the first movie, you now have the ability to think outside the box. And I think as long as you have good character progression-which is essentially Four and Tris, the anchors of the film-if you have that stuff right, then if you lose some kind of threads of different plotlines, it shouldn't matter."
Ansel Elgort, who plays Tris' brother Caleb in the movie and Augustus Waters opposite Shailene in "The Fault in Our Stars", also promised that the second film will be much darker than the first one. He said, "It is more about the characters and now Beatrice (Shailene Woodley) is more badass so she is going to kick ass a little bit more and there will be a lot more stunts."
Returning to the rank of casts is Kate Winslet who plays the antagonist Jeanine Matthews. Naomi Watts, who will be playing as Evelyn, head of the factionless group and Four's mother, will also be joining in the series.
"Insurgent" is set to premiere on March 20, 2015.
