Lawrence Hyrb or most commonly known as "Major Nelson" as his Xbox Live gamertag, announced on his blog that three new games would be coming to Xbox Games with Gold for free. The games offered are "Monaco: What's Yours is Mine," "Super Time Force," and "Halo: Reach".

These games will reportedly be made free for Xbox Live Gold members to download on either Xbox One and 360 starting September 1. "Super Time Force" is said to replace "Strike Suit Zero" as a Games with Gold free download, while "Crimson Dragon" remains as a free download on Xbox One.

For XBox 360 owners, "Monaco: What's Yours is Mine," which retails at $14.99, will be only available through September 1-15 for XBox Live Gold members. Meanwhile, "Halo: Reach," which usually retails for $24.99, will be available on September 15-30 for Xbox Live Gold members.

Tekrevue.com said that in order to avail the free games, XBox Live Gold members need to log-in into their consoles or on the XBox marketplace in order to purchase any or all of the free games they wish to avail during the promotional period. Fans are expecting that Microsoft would be expanding its Games with Gold program to XBox One in the near future. "Xbox Games with Gold" is a program that Microsoft launched to counter Sony's "PlayStation Plus" program. This promotion or program basically gives free games to users who sign up for a gold membership on Xbox Live. Xbox Live gold members can avail for two free games every month. For now the "Xbox Games with Gold" is limited to the Xbox 360, but it is expected that Microsoft will soon bring it over to Xbox One. The program has been going on for over a year now and has also featured various top selling games such as "Sleeping Dogs", "Hitman: Absolution", "Gears of War", "Halo 3", and "Dark Souls" to name a few.
