In the midst of filming "Insurgent," onscreen and rumored offscreen couple Shailene Woodley and Theo James sat down with Hero Complex for the Los Angeles Times to talk about their upcoming movie. The pair, who would be reprising their roles as Tris and Four, shared some insight on what fans would expect in the follow-up movie to "Divergent."
Shailene, who has been linked with "Spectacular Now" co-star Miles Teller, "The Fault in Our Stars" actor Ansel Elgort, and even "Juno" actress Ellen Page apart from James, said that "Insurgent" is an "emotional" movie.
She said about working with James, "The more you get to know someone the more comfortable you are, the more you're able to explore in certain scenes because you're able to be more vulnerable or not worry so much."
James seconded and said, "There's real stakes behind it, and sometimes that's hard to find in spectacular situations. If you're watching these movies that are spectacles, which are fun and it's about this thing and escapism, sometimes the crux of the emotionality gets lost. That doesn't necessarily sometimes matter, but we are trying to retain that with this film."
Christian Post said that despite the rumors surrounding the two and their onscreen chemistry in the film, James and Woodley are not dating. James is still with his girlfriend Ruth Kearney, while Woodley yet to appear with a boyfriend or girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Woodley's other onscreen partner in another film, Ansel Elgort, talked about his close connection with Woodley. The two have managed to touched a lot of hearts in the film "The Fault in Our Stars, " but are brother and sister in "Insurgent." He said to Hollywood Life about his co-star, "[Shailene and I are] pretty tight. I like working with her a lot. She's really good. She's a really, really good actress. She's a really nice girl - really genuine."
