Earlier this July, Polish developer CD Projekt Red unveiled the release date of their new upcoming game "The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt" by releasing a new trailer for the game on their YouTube channel. IGN said that according to the video, the game is set to be released on February 24, 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

This is the third installment of "the Witcher" video game series, which is based on the book series of the same name. Gamers can play as the legendary witcher, Geralt of Rivia, who is also known to many as the 'white wolf' for his silver hair. Players who wish to play a professional monster slayer and get to experience what it is like to roam the fantasy world of the game will also allow them to decide which path to take just like any tried and tested RPG (role-playing game).

"The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt" boasts new vast worlds to explore, characters to meet, a massive graphical improvement, and not to mention new game mechanics like mounted combat, open world exploration, and many more.

The game will have a Steam version and also a GOG (Good Old Games) version which is DRM free on the PC platform.

Earlier this March, CD Projekt Red also released an open letter to the fans on their website stating why exactly the game was delayed. The CD Projekt Red says that, "We knew this to be an ambitious plan, but believed we could achieve it by bringing together our team with its creative energies and current gaming platforms with their technical capabilities. A project this vast and complex would inevitably require special care in its final stages, manual fine-tuning of many details, through testing time and again."

PC Gamer had an interview with CD Projekt Red during this year's E3 while showcasing its new 46 minute gameplay demo and what the third game will bring to the table for fans of the series.

Michal Gilewski, CDPR's Head of Marketing says, "We wanted to make the combat more responsive, so we raised the number of animations to like 5 times." Michal, together with the game's lead programmer, Grzegor Mocarski added that they added more dodge animations and are still working.

Another new mechanic to the game is Geralt's new small crossbow which gives him more versatility and adding more to his arsenal of ranged combat including signs and bombs. As the demo continued on it showcased the open world feature of the game where if you look to the mountains you could probably go there and even encounter various monsters along the way.

Not to mention the graphics showcased was really impressive and the developers even went out and said that, "It's not even optimized. You can expect the game to look better than that."

"The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt" looks as promising as ever and fans are eagerly anticipating for its release on February next year.
