Warner Bro. Studios finally revealed the worldwide release date of "Batman: Arkham Knight." The company said via its its official website for the game and on Twitter that the game would be released on June 2, 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Mashable noted that the delay is a full nine months from the original schedule.
It was just months ago when it was accidentally leaked by Microsoft on their game listing page that the game would be pushed back to February 2015. It was eventually removed. With the latest revelation, it appears that most media outfits have interpretated the leak differently, as it had the month and day backwards. Nonetheless, the new revelation was indeed a surprise because most fans were looking forward to playing the game as was originally slated to be released in fall of this year. The game was then pushed back to 2015 after developer Rocksteady posted a YouTube video hinting the change in the release date schedule.
Both Warner Bro. Studios and developer Rocksteady have yet to say on what was the cause of the delay of the last installment of the "Arkham" series. But in a Gamespot interview with Rocksteady Marketing Manager Guy Perkins, he explains that they are trying to make sure that the game is 100% playable.
At the same time, Warner Bro. Studios also announced on the company's official Twitter account that there are two types of collector's edition available for purchase. The first one is the Limited edition which would cost $99.99 on consoles and $74.99 for the PC. The collector's edition also come in with an 80-page art book, Steelbook, a limited edition DC "Batman: Arkham Knight #0" comic, and three unique skins from the "New 52" comics and a Batman memorial statue. The second one is the Batmobile edition which retails at $199.99. This edition is reportedly available on consoles only and comes with all the aforementioned goodies of the Limited edition but with an added transformable Batmobile statue.
