"Slender: The Arrival" is set to be released on September 23 for the PS3 and September 24 on Xbox 360. This was according to an announcement by game publisher Midnight City on their official website and on Twitter.
"Slender: The Arrival" is the sequel to the hit indie browser-based video game "Slender: The Eight Pages," which was released on June 26, 2012. The game is based on the fictional character called "Slender Man," which originated from the Something Awful forums back in 2009. Slender Man described as a tall and faceless man who wears a black suit and has tentacles at the back that abducts and stalks children. Since its inception, Slender Man has gained a cult following on the internet with various online fictional stories, cosplays, fanart, and more.
It was on 2012 that developer Parsec Productions decided to make a game out of the internet urban legend on the "Unity" game engine and made it available to everyone for free. A year later, Blue Isle Studios decided to make a sequel to the game and release it on PC via Steam.
On January 2014 it was reported by IGN that "Slender: The Arrival" would be coming to consoles and it included two new "flashback levels". These levels are reportedly available once you finished the main storyline and gameplay of the game. These new levels are also free to the PC and Steam versions and will be available at the same time of the console release.
Although the game had gained mixed reviews which made fans both happy and frustrated to pay the game and delve deeper into the mystery and lore of the creepy and scary realm of Slender Man.
The game will be priced at $10 and will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360. You can also check out the PC and Steam version which is priced at $9.99.
