"The Elder Scrolls Online" Unveils New Loyalty Program- Buy a Subscription, Get Free Stuff

By

"The Elder Scrolls Online" very much wants you to keep playing "The Elder Scrolls Online." If you're already playing, that is. Because for those who have been playing the game from Zenimax Online Studios, there'll be huge new incentives coming very soon.

The news was confirmed by Gamespot, who have all the details on what's being called a "Loyalty Program." Here's how it works- basially, if you've been playing "The Elder Scrolls Online" for at least three months (three months paid, that is- free sample periods don't count in your three month time) then you're eligible for new rewards.

The first reward is a vanty pet called the High Hrothgar Wraith; the second reward will be revealed very soon, according to Gamespot. As well, it'll only be offered to those who've been paying for six months, not three.

KpopStarz confirms the news as well, and adds on an interesting tidbit: according to their sources, gamers are wondering if this new "Loyalty Program" will begin implementing secret features into the game. KpopStarz cites two specific secrets: classes, and new gameplay elements.

This is just a rumor for now, but definitely something to keep an eye on.

All this comes at a particularly bad time for Zenimax Online Studios, though. IGN reports that the company has been hit with a nasty series of layoffs. They add that for "games of this type," these kinds of firings are not out of the ordinary, but still it can't be a pleasant experience for Zenimax.

Their reports also included a statement from Bethesda Softworks, the company that originally created "The Elder Scrolls" franchise.

"We remain strongly committed to The Elder Scrolls Online, and continue to invest heavily to develop new content for PC and Mac players, prepare the game for its console launch, and handle our planned expansion into important international territories."
