"Real Housewives" Husband Joe Giudice May Evade Deportation, Teresa Giudice May Avoid Prison Altogether

By

Do you think "Real Housewives of New Jersey" stars Teresa and Joe Giudice deserve to spend time in prison? They did commit mortage fraud... but they're also reality TV stars.

It's a moral and ethical battlefield. And it seems those in charge of the Guidice's sentences might be having the same struggle, because the latest Giudice news is that Teresa doesn' think her husband (an Italian native) will be deported back to Italy as punishment for his crimes.

Enstarz has the story, along with a few salient quotes from Giudice insiders about the potential sentencing.

"Joe says there are issues with the mortgage fraud charges he pled guilty to that call the deportation into question. It won't be up to the judge if Joe is deported, but instead, will be played out in immigration court."

"Teresa is thrilled that Joe could be staying in the country, and doesn't want to listen to anyone that says otherwise."

Radar Online adds an important note- that it may be due to a legal technicality (and nothing else) that Giudice is allowed to stay in the country. Otherwise, they'd be shipping back home pretty fast.

However, this could all be a bunch of nothing- it's not the first time that the Giudices have championed legal ideas that seemed kind of ridiculous.

There's the time when (also reported on by Radar Online) Teresa claimed she'd avoid a prison sentence entirely- and solely because she's a mom.

"Teresa has been telling friends she doesn't think there is any way the judge will send her to prison because she is a mother of four girls," said Radar Online's sources a little while ago. "Teresa is planning on saying she just went along with whatever her husband Joe gave her to sign, and never paid attention to the details."

Probably not a sound legal strategy. But who knows? It could work out for everyone.

Check back soon for the latest on Teresa and Joe Giudice's prison sentences.
