The A&E crime drama series, "Longmire," would not be returning on the small screen following its Season 3 conclusion as the show was cancelled. However, it has been suggested that the highly anticipated fourth season might continue on a different network.

As reported on TV Line, the franchise has already stated its goodbye. Warner Horizon Television issued a statement on behalf of the show which read, "We would like to thank the phenomenal cast, crew and producers of Longmire, along with our partners at Warner Horizon, for their tireless work on three seasons of quality dramatic storytelling. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together."

The site divulged that Warner Horizon will shop the show to other networks.

One of the actors, Lou Diamond Phillips (who played Henry Standing Bear), engaged in a Twitter discussion about the show's relevance after readers bashed that the show is too old for the viewers. The actor tweeted, "Hey @LongmirePosse and The FOLD, you have started a conversation both timely & necessary about demographic reporting and philosophy! #Truth."

The actor also retweeted some of the show haters' comments about "Longmire," of which fans of the series quickly defended with their love for the drama.

Screenrant said the show is the most watched A&E show of all time and follows "Duck Dynasty" in terms of viewership since it first premiered on June 3, 2012 at 4.12 million viewers. The series ended its Season 3 on August 4 this year with a slight decrease at 3.68 million viewers compared from 3.86 from its premiere. The site posits that the cancellation might be due to the fact that it wishes to support shows produced in-house like "The Returned.'"Longmire," like "The Glades," were said to have come from outside studios.

It could be recalled that Branch (Bailey Chase), who was believed to have been dead due from suicide, recovered from his wound. Season 3 revealed that Branch did not shot himself, and that David Ridges (David Midhunter) was the one who have shot him. However, Zap2It said that Branch might have tasted death a second time after being shot by his own father, Barlow Connelly, who tried to cover his tracks for ordering the hit on Walt's (Robert Taylor) wife to make his son the new town sheriff. Meanwhile, Walt and Henry discover that Ridges, who killed the man who murdered Walt's wife in the beginning, was acting on the orders of Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez). It is to note that Nighthorse got paid by Barlow via a shell corporation to kill Walt's wife.

Excited for "Longmire"'s Season 4? Stay tuned for news about the show's new home.
