"Game of Thrones" author supports Senator Tom Udall via a fundraiser in his own personal theater; Will George R. R. Martin's support help Udall?

"Game of Thrones" author George R. R. Martin expresses his support for Senator Tom Udall by throwing a fundraiser in his private theater. The event will not be a cheap affair, however, as VIP passes are sold for $1000 and regular attendees will have to pay $250, but may be won for as low as a $5 donation.

According to Huffington Post, the fundraiser will be held on October 7 in Santa Fe. Martin, who is the author of the series "A Song of Ice and Fire," which is where the show "Game of Thrones" is based on, will be in attendance along with Udall in the author's personal cinema. In the event, there will allegedly be a discussion on issues in New Mexico, but ultimately, the purpose of the fundraiser is to aid the senator's re-election efforts. The event comes with a price tag of $250 for regular attendees, while those wanting to have a meet and greet scheduled before the event will have to shell out $1000. Moreover, the article says that an exclusive dinner with Martin and Udall is priced at $2600.

For those eager to attend the event but do not have the funds to do so, a $5 donation can give you a chance to win, according to ABC News. Two persons (one winner and one chosen friend) can attend the two events where people can allegedly ask Martin and Udall anything. This can be about Martin's books or Udall's campaign, says the article.

Details about winning a trip to Santa Fe have been tweeted by Udall himself. ABC News states that the winners of the promo will get to attend the VIP event, their airfare and hotel accommodations already paid for.

Martin is known to be open about his public opinions, which has earned him a label "self-descrbibed Democrat." In 2012, Martin allegedly spoke about the Republicans and voter suppression. Huffington Post adds: "He recently weighed in on the Islamic State militants in the Middle East, comparing the fantastical dragons of the world he created to nuclear weapons."

Even without Martin's support, Udall, who has retained his seat as the New Mexico Senator against Allen Weh, a Republican, in the midterm elections held on November, is already widely-favored. However, Breitbart shares that Udall's cousin, Mark, a Democrat senatorial candidate for Colorado, is not doing as good.
