Celebrity couple Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes welcomed a baby girl on September 12. The baby is the first of both actors, CNN reports.
A source who is a friend of Mendes told People Magazine how the actress feels about welcoming a new member to their family. "She's absolutely in heaven being a mom. She's never been happier," said the source.
"She and Ryan are just in awe of this beautiful person they created. It's a really special time for them," the source added.
The two actors who starred in the 2012 TV drama, "The Place Beyond the Pines" started dating back in 2011.
The two kept quiet about Mendes' pregnancy, although pregnancy rumors have been circulating in magazines and online news portals. The news was confirmed only in July.
In a previous post by People, a source said "Their lives completely changed as soon as Eva got pregnant. They used to travel all over the place together and go on hikes with their dogs. [But in the past few months] she barely left the house."
"Ryan has been taking care of her, picking up food and running errands. He has been very supportive of keeping things a secret," the insider continued.
Meanwhile, Gosling's ex-girlfriend is reportedly not happy ever since the pregnancy rumors surfaced. According to reports, the actress claimed back in July that she was "devastated" about the baby news. The two reportedly ended their romance because McAdams was allegedly not ready to have kids.
Earlier this year, a source told OK that since breaking up with Michael Sheen last year, McAdams "has been very low-key about it all."
"She's played it very smart and used the whole 'just friends' angle to get close to Ryan again, but she 100 percent wants him back. He's not the cheating type, but he hasn't been honest with Eva about how much contact he has with Rachel," added the insider.
McAdams has not been reported as having any reaction after Mendes gave birth.
