Singer Ray J whose leaked sex tape with Kim Kardashian made waves in 2007, shared his insights on probably the biggest controversy on the singer and his then-girlfriend's career as celebrities.
In an interview with The Huffington Post, Ray J claimed that while he did not regret making the controversial sex tape, he is not exactly pleased with how things turned out after the tape surfaced.
"I personally don't think that's a road anybody should go down. I don't applaud myself for anything in that world. I've grown from it and I've learned from it. But, at the same time, I don't applaud myself for it."
Ray J graced an interview with HuffPost Live earlier this week as part of the promotion of "Love & Hip Hop Hollywood" that will premiere this Monday. The singer also humbly claimed he does not believe that the sex tape is the reason for Kardashian's success in the entertainment industry.
"Nope. God did that. I just leave it alone. God made all the success happen," Ray J told host Marc Lamont Hill. "When people say, 'You put this person on,' listen: God did that."
The interview was made in the wake of another sex tape controversy involving "Love and Hip hop Atlanta" stars Mimi Faust and Nikko Smith. The tape went viral online back in May just before the reality show's third season premiere.
Viewers of the reality show have seen a lot of drama in the season as Smith was accused of leaking the video without Faust's consent. Later on, however, the former couple opted to sell the video to an adult film company. The drama even escalated when it turned out that Smith was married to another woman.
Faust took to Twitter recently to announce that they are no longer together.
Meanwhile, their co-stars Stevie J and Joseline Hernandez are expecting a baby, according to Media Take Out. According to the website, a source told them that Stevie has been extra protective of Joseline and claimed that he "even hired security to be with her when he's out of town for business."
The insider, however, did not mention how far the "LHHATL" star is in her supposed pregnancy. The couple also has not confirmed nor denied the rumors.
Hernandez is currently facing a lawsuit filed by Althea Heart after the former, who was allegedly smoking crack cocaine during the show's reunion show, attacked Heart.
