Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are reportedly thinking of having another Marvel hero featured alongside Cap in "Captain America 3."
CinemaBlend asked the Russo brothers who among the heroes in Marvel cinematic universe they would want to take such a Black Widow-sized role. Joe replied, "That's such a hard question because we've kind of already done that."
"Do they have to be under contract with Marvel? Maybe they are at another studio," he added.
Based on the Russos' response, the website hinted an intriguing speculation saying, "Could Marvel be pulling some strings behind the scenes to get THIS guy back under the Marvel umbrella?" The report went with the following image:
This left fans wondering if they will see Spidey teaming up with Cap. But looking at the business aspect, this might be far from happening as Sont owns the right to Spider-Man. However, Joe Russo hinted the he has always wanted to see a crossover of that scale done.
"I don't know if that would ever be possible, with all the different situations at the studios. But I would love to see a lot of characters on screen together," he said.
Moreover, in another interview with Desde Hollywood, the directors cleared up details and hinted about the possible death of a character.
Anthony said, "If you are not afraid of something bad happening you are losing the tension. You have to be very committed to all possibilities, including death for characters."
The two also spoke about speculations regarding hinted about the possibility of featuring the "Civil War" storyline.
"It's complex," described Joe. "There are a lot of characters. Marvel doesn't have ownership of some of the key players in that... I don't run Marvel so I can't say that it won't happen, but I would say that it is highly unlikely."
Comic Book Movie, also recently speculated on how the storyline could inject in the Marvel cinematic universe.
According to the site, "I believe Civil War can be done in shades. Hell, it doesn't even require its own film. You can take the basic concept of Civil War and plant the seeds between Steve and Tony at the end of Age of Ultron and have Cap in his third outing not only search for Bucky and finish off Hydra."
