‘The Legend of Zelda’ Wii U slated for release 2015: ‘Hyrule Warriors’ director and producer Eiji Aonuma talks about the version

Although 'The Legend of Zelda' Wii U is slated for 2015 launch, game director Eiji Aonuma hopes that the version will perform on its own, in the same way that the Hyrule Warriors. The game title continues to excite fans making it one of the most anticipated titles in the gaming world, reported Christian Today.

'Hyrule Warriors' hit the stores and Nintendo's eShop yesterday after the announcement on Thursday, and it received rave reviews from fans.

So what's new with this title? The version is expected to cater an open and wider world as gamers can "randomly roam along the countryside" and come across "randomized activities."

Director and producer Eiji Aonuma, however, might have something else in mind, and he's definitely taking a different approach for this title.

"Since we're talking about open worlds, let's state upfront that we don't plan to have an open world in the same way other companies have been doing in recent years," Aonuma said to Edge Magazine.

The genius behind the uber-hit franchise talked about what really defines Zelda In an interview with Nintendo Life, wrote Ecumenical News.

"I can't identify just one element that would make a Zelda game a Zelda game. The Zelda world is usually a big adventure, and it's about many experiences," Aonuma responded.

"One of the things that I think is required by a Zelda game is, for example, the loading scenes, which we kept - like the first scene where you come upon a treasure box and you have Link, or whoever, lifting the item up from the treasure box. But we realized we needed more than just that, so we ended up adding more and more aspects that were Zelda-esque - for example, the sound effects and animations that people are familiar with from the franchise," he added.

Other titles that are slated to come out next year include "Splatoon," "Yoshi's Woolly World," "Mario Maker," and "Project Giant." These game titles are expected in the first half of 2015. "Kirby and the Rainbow Curse," "Project Guard," "Star Fox," and "Xenoblade Chronicles X" will follow at a later part of the year.
