'Slender: The Arrival' for PS3 Available Now

'Slender: The Arrival' fans who liked the game on the PC will now have something else to look forward to: Blue Isle Studios has announced that it will be coming to consoles later this September, with the PS3 release happening last September 23.

In the official Playstation blog, Alex Tintor, founder and Creative Director of Blue Isle Studios, announced the release. "Over the past two years we've gotten literally thousands of messages from Playstation fans asking to bring the game to PS3. We knew it would be a lot of hard work, but we totally agreed," wrote Tintor. "The ultimate Slender Man experience had to be from the comfort of your living room on a big screen TV."

Two New Levels Coming

Tintor also teased about new content coming to the console version, which will be released later in the PC version of the game as well. "As a bonus, we've added a bunch of brand new content to the game. The game is now bigger than ever with new levels, new characters, and more stories to uncover."

Hardcore Gamer spotted that a new trailer was uploaded along with the release date announcement. The trailer gives gamers a peek into Oakside Park, the setting for "Slender: The Arrival," and reveals that two new levels are added to the console version.

According to Hardcore Gamer, this instalment still follows the same gameplay - the player only has a camcorder and a flashlight to fend off the Slender Man, and hearing agility will matter more than eyesight. Cinema Blend adds that what makes the "Slender" games appealing and frightening is its non-linear thriller format, where players have to gather clues and move around carefully while avoiding the Slender Man.

According to the trailer, the game has been rated "T" (Teen) for blood and violence. This came as a surprise to Cinema Blend as horror games are usually rated "M" for Mature. The game is now available digitally starting September 23 for $9.99.
