Like any good young adult novel, "Insurgent" has a romance at its core. In this case, it's between Tris (played by Shailene Woodley in the film series) and Four (played by actor Theo James).
And like so many on-screen couples, these two have developed a little bit of chemistry. According to Fashion & Style, there was some serious chemistry between the two in the DVD extras for the first film, and that's said to have increased since the filming of "Divergent's" first sequel, "Insurgent."
According to Fashion & Style, when asked, both actors claimed they would be Spider-Man if they could be any superhero. And there's no greater indication of blossoming love than that.
F&S also has a few quotes from Woodley about the status of "Insurgent," and what roads her and James' characters will take.
"A lot of things are different this summer. Different director, different costumes, different set designers so the movie itself looks very different and has a very different feel to it, at least that's what we've done so far. I mean, it is bigger in scale and action sequences are much more intense."
Later, Woodley added, "The first movie, a lot of it was about figuring out the story and describing the world...in this one we have a lot more time to dive into each individual character and get to know them."
That's not the only male co-star getting a lot of Woodley's time- according to Christian Times, Ansel Elgort will have a massively expanded role in the second film. In the first film, Elgort's role was much more limited.
According to Hallels, "Insurgent" will follow Tris as she uncovers a plot to destroy all those labeled Divergent in this futuristic society.
