Rumors have been flying that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have been more than co-stars recently (that "more than" relating to their relationship status). Especially since they starred together in "Ram Leela."
Prepare for the rumor mill to start up anew, because both Padukone and Singh have just signed on to star in another movie together, this time entitled "Bajrao Mastani."
Fashion & Style has the story- "Bajrao Mastani," it seems, is a true-to-life story about Peshwa Baji Rao and his wife, Mastani. Rao was originally a famed general in the 1700s. Naturally, Singh will be playing Rao, while Padukone will be playing Mastani.
Given that this is a war film, Fashion & Style also has a few quotes about the battle sequences, from sources on the film:
Ranveer's character will be seen in high risk combats," said one of these sources. "Bhansali has already finalized locations for these action sequences in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. He is waiting for his cast to return from their respective schedules so they can begin their training with Daksha."
The source later added, "Ranveer need to master the art of striking, kicking, grappling and weaponry so that when he engages in a fight, he can balance himself perfectly and perform the scenes with elan."
RAn earlier piece in Fashion & Style has a confirnment of Singh's role from Singh himself.
"Yes, I've been approached by Sanjay Bhansali to train Ranveer and Deepika for 'Bajirao Mastani.' I will have more clarity on this offer in a week's time. it's an unusual experience for me to work on a film. I've done so few of them. I'm really enthusiastic as along with teaching, I'll also get to learn something new."
However, Singh may appear in the film sporting a drastically different hairstyle. That is- no hairstyle. According to a piece in ZeeNews India, Singh may be shaving his entire head for the role of Baji Rao.
