Save a Ton of Money with October's Free Xbox One 'Games With Gold' Deals

By

Another month means another crop of new games for Xbox owners and Games with Gold subscribers. And this month, there are a couple of seriously terrific games among the free options.

Thanks to KpopStarz, we know just what games will be available for Xbox Games with Gold subscribers in the month of October. Players will have their pick of three games- the first is "Battlefield: Bad Company 2," the 2010 first-person shooter and spin-off of the classic "Battlefield" war FPS franchise. Normally, "Battlefield: Bad Company 2" costs a hefty $19.99, but beginning on October 1, the game is available for the low price of zero Microsoft points (which means free, basically).

This only lasts until October 15. On the 16th, a different game becomes available- "Darksiders 2." And "Darksiders 2" is a far more lucrative deal to get for free than "Battlefield: Bad Company 2"- a new copy of "Darksiders 2" runs for $49.99, so getting a complimentary copy is a wonderful deal.

According to Latino Post, there's another free game available this month. Entitled "Chariot," this game is a co-op game, where players can choose either a princess or her fiancee, and ride on chariot wheels through various platforming levels. The game isn't technically an Xbox exclusive- it's also available on a number of other platforms, like the Wii U and PS4- but it's free with Games With Gold. And that's still something.

Major Nelson has the full list of October's free games- while these are the biggest (and the most free) titles, there are a number of other sale deals going on during October. According to Major Nelson, games like "Assassin's Creed Liberation" and "Beyond Good & Evil" are selling at a massive discount this month.

Check back soon for the latest on Xbox's Games with Gold freebies, and be sure to return in November when Microsoft announces another slew of free (and cheap) game deals.
