Lorde on 'South Park' is a man? Show creators continue to poke fun of 'Royals' singer, spoofs the reporter who defended her in 'Cissy' episode [Recap]

Do "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have against Lorde? The "Royals" singer was featured as the accidental alter-ego of Randy Marsh in an episode last night, Uproxx reported.

Lorde was first featured in an earlier episode titled "Gluten Free Ebola," SPIN said. Brennan Carley for the magazine said that the decision to parody Lorde was odd for the show considering that "South Park" is famous for taking down arrogant celebrities.

Carley then wrote, "The thing is, for a joke on a show like South Park to totally land, it has to be something the audience can get behind, like the justified takedown of someone's ego, as the show famously did to Kanye West. Lorde is 17, though, and by all accounts - acceptance speeches and otherwise - seems to be pretty humble, so, cool joke guys?"

"The Cissy" episode on October 9 generated buzz from critics not only because of the fact that it continued to spoof Lorde by having Randy come out as the person behind the hit "Yellow Flicker Beat," a new single specially produced as part of the soundtrack of the movie "Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," NME noted. In the episode, Styleite.com said that "South Park" went as far as spoofing the SPIN writer for defending Carley. In the show, Carley is featured as a press reporter named Brandon Carlyle who has been going around to report on the true identity of the show's Lorde.

Lorde has yet to respond to "South Park" featuring her as a man. If one could guess based on the Grammy winner's attitude about her haters, Lorde might have just laughed along with the episodes.

She earlier told Elle magazine about her attitude, "I've developed something of a fearsome reputation. People know that if you talk down to me, I will roll my eyes or whatever."
