"Witches of East End" renewal for Season 3 still possible? Series comeback brings mysterious Dash, Ingrid, Freya relationship [SPOILER]

By

"Witches of East End" fans are still hopeful for the upcoming comeback of the highly-anticipated show for a third season on Lifetime network. It is, however, speculated to be cancelled after the ratings have been descending since Season 2 aired on July 6 this year.

The show, which tackles the story of ancient magical, witchcraft powers of the Beauchamp family, had an average rating of 0.5 in the 18-49 demographic from a population of viewers of 1.13 million, as reported on the official statistics provided by TV Series Finale. The ratings went down from 0.6 rating in 18-49 demographics analyzed from the total viewers of 1.67 million.

Season 2 wrapped up with Ingrid's delight after she confirmed she's bearing a child. Killian (portrayed by Daniel Di Tomasso), however, switched identities with his elder brother Dash Gardiner (played by Eric Winter), after being imprisoned for murder charges.

Screenwriter, producer Maggie Friedman, who works as an executive producer of the series, admitted her plans for the upcoming season, if ever the show continues. She began teasing, on TV Line, by the mystery behind the father of Ingrid's baby. "Yes, exactly. She doesn't know, so that's going to be a big mystery when (I hope) we begin Season 3, she begins. "That's something Ingrid will have to deal with: Who's the father of this baby?"

There could be chances that Dash is the father after she had slept with him. On the series, Ingrid's family aren't mindful of what they have done, and Friedman told that it could be an issue on the upcoming series comeback.

In addition, the showrunner divulged Freya and Dash's messed up relationship. She said, "Well, that'll have to unfold in Season 3. It's interesting because he's been very bitter to Freya, but on the other hand, she jilted him and he did love her. So he has a very good opportunity to really f-k with her while she doesn't know who he is."

Meanwhile, if Lifetime decides to continue with the series, Friendman thinks she might include someone on the cast line up to head for Helena. Ooohh yes. There's an actress we would reference in the writers' room a lot when we would talk about this character, and who we'd want her to be, should we be so lucky as to have a Season 3," she reveals.

"We're not sure if we could get her, but the great thing is that there are so many amazing actresses in Julia and Mädchen's peer group who would be fabulous. It's going to be a fun role, so I hope we're able to write it!

There are still hopes for "Witches of East End" renewal for Season 3, evidently. When will that be? Stay tuned for more series updates.
